The Brass Monkeys were formed in 2002 in the Manchester area, when it became apparent that the same three people seemed to be getting recruited seperately to make up the brass section for a great number of different projects. They quickly became very comfortable playing together and decided to team up on a permanent basis. Since then, the Brass Monkeys has extended throughout the UK and worked with a number of world-class musicians in a wide variety of settings.
Here is a bit of information about the three main Monkeys. Due to high demand, we can't always guarantee the same personnel, but everyone we use is amongst the best sight-reading versatile brass players this country has to offer.

Trumpet: Jon Scott Previously a regular dep within the section, we are pleased to announce that Jon has recently accepted the job as head of trumpets for the Brass Monkeys. With years of experience at the very highest level, there are few challenges Jon hasn't already met, but, should you wish to present him any new ones, there is no-one better to take them on. Jon has worked with many big names in music - notably, having served as the lead trumpet player in Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for many years, and having played for such stars as Sting and Stevie Wonder.

Saxes & Reeds: Katie Parker A definite force for the future, Katie has already made an enviable name for herself in a number of studio recordings, live bands, and touring theatre shows. Having most recently completed a full UK tour with UK Productions' 42nd Street, Katie is eager for some exciting new Brass Monkeys assignments. |
Trombone: Joe Stevenson Another of the 'up and coming' generation, Joe too has already played on several singles and albums, as well as being pretty much permanently on tour with a variety of different bands / shows for a number of years. During this time Joe has picked up an arsenal of skills and experience from the incredible musicians he has worked with, that equip him very well for any scenario in which the Brass Monkeys might be needed. |
